Idols and Deception
Use things for their intended purpose, but don't worship them. Idols are not idols in themselves, but become idols when they are worshiped and exalted above God. Idols become idols when they replace God in my life, when they distract me from the work God gave me to do. Gods voice must always be the first thing I listen for in every situation.
Don't let technology, a false god, take his place. Technology lulls us into a false sense of security and makes us believe that it can save us from everything we fear. False gods get their power from fear. Fear drives out love and therefore drives out God, which is why leading by fear is so effective as a doorway into many lives. False Evidence Appearing Real...a stage is deliberately set for deception. Only guarding my gates (ears, eyes, mind) and focusing on God can protect me from this deception. "I will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on me." -Isaiah 26:3 You can't be deceived unless you are looking into the deception. A beautiful lake can't be fallen into unless it is being too closely examined or admired.
The enemy comes in like a flood and drowns/devours many...except those who do not get too close. FLEE from evil. Pray against it regularly. Speak the word of Jehovah to it. I AM the standard when the enemy comes in like a flood.
